Longfellow Farm, a project of Longfellow Community Association, grows vegetables, fruits and herbs to feed and beautify the neighborhood. Neighbors work together to grow, tend, distribute and preserve the harvest, while learning and sharing ways to make Longfellow more food secure, vibrant, sustainable, and healthy. Established in 2015, this community farm quickly took root and has become an exemplary model for a neighborhood-based urban farm. Neighbors volunteer to operate the Longfellow Farm in exchange for produce. Ten CSA shares are sold to neighbors to help fund the project. Longfellow Community Association and neighborhood events have been hosted at the farm. More than 100 people were involved in the first year of the project.
