On a sloped lot a few blocks south of the Juniper Gardens Training Farm, the Somali-Bantu Community Garden is in its third growing season. The garden hosts 18 families who grow for themselves, to share with their neighbors and for markets. Mohamed Mohamed has been the garden coordinator for all three years of growing, and is always looking for new ideas and projects to help the garden grow. The garden benefits the neighborhood by growing great fruits and vegetables for families and neighbors in the Somali-Bantu Community. They are able to grow their vegetables instead of having to go to the grocery store, and the garden serves as a place to build fellowship and a stronger community.
